My Uphill Struggles, Kids, Covid & "Cat"
I think that we can all agree we have all had our own struggles in recent months, never have I heard "unprecedented times" so much. But we are all leaving in extraordinary times, something that we could not have predicted even 6 month ago.
In recent years I have been relatively addicted to running, although having been blessed with the birth of my second child and first daughter in April 2019 running has taken somewhat of a back seat. With some success at sleep training in recent weeks however I have seen the return of my evenings and now have time for my second passion after my family, running.
I really cannot stress how important exercise has been to my mental health, not only recently but in the last few years. Running is a release which allows me to think about things and put them into perspective. I think this is something that all runners would agree, it does have some magical de-stressing powers.
This got me thinking that in these unprecedented times it really is the small things that get you through. Even my daughter calling anything with four legs "cat" really does get me through the day, especially walking passed all the dog walkers with my daughter saying cat and pointing to all of them.
I'm now back on my running again and starting to get fit, I plan to put in the odd blog to chart progress with of course the obligatory snap of an Uphill Struggles tee! But even if you can't run ensure you go out for walks and enjoy the small things in life, as we all know it is so precious and goes all too quickly. The photos above are from Holt Country Park and Great Yarmouth, places I have been a couple of times in recent weeks and with scenery such as that it really does put everything into perspective.
Go out, relax and enjoy this world!
